The School

  • The school has a very extensive archive, especially of material relating to drama and the arts, The school has maintained a strong academic record. The top ten academic schools in the country, sixth form under 200 pupils.
  • The College is a Christian foundation which values the fact that its pupils are drawn from a wide variety of faiths.
  • Every boy has a form tutor who takes his personal well-being as seriously as he takes his academic success. Good pastoral care. The Code of Conduct which operates throughout the College.
  • The school typically has about 120 pupils gaining 100%% AB grades at A level. In recent years, the school has produced between 40 and 50 Oxbridge students per year.

Admission

  • Boys are admitted to the College as day boys from the age of 7. In addition, full or weekly boarding is available from Year 7.
  • Junior School (Years 3 – 6) - a combination of written exercises, practical tasks and an individual interview.
  • Lower & Middle School (Years 7 – 10) - the candidate's performance in the appropriate examination or test an interview a confi dential report from the Head of the candidate's present school and subject to the College's Standard Terms and Conditions, a copy of which is sent with every offer of a place.
  • Upper School (Year 12) - the candidate's performance in the appropriate examination or test an interview a confi dential report from the Head of the candidate's present school.
  • In most cases, we are able to make arrangements for candidates from overseas to sit examinations in the country concerned.
  • For those sitting GCSE examinations we erquire 18 points
    as a minimum entry requirement, where A* counts as 4 points, A as 3 points, B as 2 points, C as 0 points.
  • These should include (i) English Language, (ii) Mathematics and (iii) an A/A* grade in the four subjects to be studied at Advanced level, where appropriate.

Boarding Houses

  • Boarders at Dulwich enjoy the best of both worlds, 70 acres of open space, just a twelve minute train  journey from the centre of London, the boarding community is truly international, with some 20 nationalities.
  • Boys from all three Houses eat together in the Boarders’ Dining Room, each House also has its own kitchen facilities where boys can make light meals and hot drinks.
  • With London on the doorstep, there is no shortage of destinations for weekend trips. Museums, art galleries and the theatre, of course; but also the cinema, go-karting, paint-balling, ice-skating.
  • Most boys become involved in one or more of the many co-curricular activities available such as sport, music, drama, CCF, scouts or community service.
  • Boarders now belong to one of three boarding houses boys of sixteen (Year 11) live in "The Orchard", the Upper School (Year 12 and Year13) "Ivyholme" or "Blew House".
